With the rapid development of computer networks, the application of computer network not only affects the fields of office automation and industry automation but also plays a role in the field of life, hi recent years, academe brings forward the slogan "Bring the Internet to life". In this situation, Intelligent Home Network (MM) has become an important direction and inevitable result of current network development.The development of IHN requires a large number of complex wiring and wiring has become a key work. The use of low voltage power line as a communication medium is reasonable, effective and low-costing. So it has advantages in IHN.At first the paper introduces the framework, function and developing trend of IHN, then analyzes the signal transmission characteristics in low voltage power line in detail. Based on the studying and comparing of some kinds of power line communication techniques and the communication characteristics of IHN, the paper designs a low voltage power line communication system using Spread Spectrum Communication(SSC) technique, and it also provides the simulation of communication system and analyzes its results.
