The Embedded Browser DeltaBrowser The Design And Implementation

Embedded Web Browsers serve as the kernel module of Information Appliances. As a critical technology of IA, there is little domestic research work in the embedded web browser field. Foreign vendors have almost occupied the whole shares of embedded web browser market. So it's urgent for us to master the embedded web browsing technology and produce our own Embedded Web Browsers.At first, the markup language and the script language for information appliance are researched in this dissertation. ViewML for Linux and Netfront as two classic embedded browsers are analyzed thoroughly and a detailed, clear image can also be obtained. After a series of analyses and research the designed embedded web browser, DeltaBrowser, is introduced. DeltaBrowser's implementation is based on DGUI, an embedded graphic system. DeltaBrowser mainly includes HTTP, HTML user agent and WML user agent. HTML user agent implements the partly parsing and displaying technology. There is some same technology as HTML user agent. Dissertation illuminates the technique of WML user angent, which parses wml pages and creates browser objects. HTTP is critical application protocol for web browser; its design and implemtion are interpreted.The interface design of the modules is very important in order to provide high degree of openness, modularity, and scalability. Dissertation explains the critical design of DeltaBrowser's GUI management and the service indication and data format process layer.After many tests and applications, the implementation has been ported in many information appliances. DeltaBrowser can satisfy the requirements of typical application in information appliance, and has been applied successfully in WEB phones, PDA, SmartPhone, and so on. DeltaBrowser's development process, its innovation and ctual application are enumerated. At last, the next generation of DeltaBrowser is introduced.
