With Digital Surveying And Mapping Results File Management Information Systems, Spatial Query Retrieval Functionality

The Digital City is an inevitable product of the Information Ages. The Surveying and Mapping Industry, especially the Fundamental part, is the core of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) in a city, and the latter places a foundation for the concept of "Digital City".It provides development opportunities for the Surveying and Mapping Industry to construct a digital city. Meanwhile, it also renders challenges to the Surveying and Mapping Departments on how to manage survey fruits successfully.In this dissertation, the theories on the management of electronic archives and the character-ristics of the archives of digital survey fruits are combined to set up a pattern in managing the archives of digital survey fruits, which is full-process and has the function of query. In addition, it also introduces the Surveying and Mapping Materials and Operation Management system, which is used in a full-process and a distributed network environment, taking the production and management of Shanghai Surveying and Mapping Bureau.Chapter 1 - The Introduction. It introduces the relationship between the work of Surveying and Mapping and Digital City. In addition, it also presents the impact on traditional pattern in managing digital survey fruits brought by constructing a Digital City.Chapter 2 - It introduces the concepts, classifications, characteristics of the digital Surveying and Mapping fruits and the theory in researching the management of electronic archives. It brings forward a new pattern on management of the digital survey fruits, which is full process and has the functionality of Spatial Query and Index.Chapter 3 - System Design. It makes a brief introduction to the environment in developing the systems, design idea and,system framework .Chapter 4 - It briefly introduces the part of Process Management.Chapter 5 - It briefly introduces the part of Spatial Query and Index.Chapter 6 - Improvement and Development.
