This paper introduces the basic theory of mathematical morphological and the technology of morphological skeletonizing based on hardware. As the development of great Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), It is a trend to replace traditional specific ASIC image processing chips using FPGA. At the same time DSP is prone to satisfy the demands of large operations, real-time and high transmitting rate when processing image. This paper gives two skeletonizing schemes using DSP and FPGA individually and also gives an appropriate scheme of DSP+FPGA for digital image processing. I have checked these schemes using EDA software of FPGA and DSP simulating platform, and I have realized above methods on DSP+FPGA platform. Finally I compared these schemes and drew a conclusion. |
