Cdma Wireless Access Roaming In The Network Between The Base Station System Research And Implementation

Roaming is an important function of mobile communication system. In most mobile communication systems, roaming is managed in Mobile Switching System; however, the radio network is connected with local exchanger by V5 interface in radio access network, and local exchanger and V5 interface don't support Mobility Management, so it's difficult to provide roaming between base station systems of mobile access network.In order to resolve this problem, the paper does much research on local exchanger, V5 interface, roaming of cellular mobile telecommunication system etc.. It put forward a roaming method for radio access network: Set HLR (Home Location Register) module and VLR (Visitor Location Register) module in radio network to provide Mobility Management, and implement roaming by the call transfer function of local exchanger.The method takes advantage of the available functions of local exchanger, reduce development cost of Radio access network, and ensure the stability of the system. It's no need to modify the local exchanger, and the access network is adapted to any exchanger. The method is simple but effective.The paper implements roaming of ZTE CDMA2000 1x radio access network by this method. At first, the paper design all transaction flows of roaming according to the structure of the network, then it design the HLR module and VLR module according to the transaction flows.
