Recently, along with the development of wireless communication, the direction of communication is led to personal communication. Satellite mobile communication system is absolutely necessary to the realization of real meaning personal communication. The development of the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite mobile communication system is very fast for its low delay and low terminal cost. LEO satellite mobile communication is becoming an important means of modern communication. So, the research in the characteristics of LEO propagation is very important. This project is aimed at implementing the emulator of the LEO satellite system to simulate its propagation characteristics.Based on the Lutz model, this project researches the propagation characteristics of satellite channel. Then simulates the model by using Matlab. Finally, we design the hardware according to the simulation result.My responsibility in this project is simulating the Doppler shift and designing the FIR filters we needed, then realize the propagation characteristics by FPGA. The main content in this dissertation includes:·Introducing the Lutz model and three probability functions needed in researching the propagation. ·Discussing two means to design the FIR filters: Windowed and Equirriple.·Introducing the FPGA and the distributed algorithm.·Generating digital white Gauss noise by FPGA.·Discussing the FPGA implementation of the propagation characteristics.
