The Host Identity Protocol (HIP) separates the endpoint identifier and locator roles of IP addresses by introducing a new name-space and a new layer to the TCP/IP stack [2]. HIP can be used to simultaneously solve the security problems and many of the practical problems, related to end-host multi-homing and end host mobility. Now, the research of HIP has caused more and more attention, and the research emphasis has transferred from theoretical research to its practicality. There are two main research direction—the implementation of HIP and the impaction of HIP to TCP/IP network when HIP is large-scale deployed. IETF have implemented HIP for testing, but there is not an implementation can get through a public way for other researchers [1].The purpose of this paper is to develop an experiment network for deep research of HIP. In this paper, HIP protocol is introduced and analyzed, after that, a experiment network model is presented, including HIP fixed hosts and mobile hosts and other network basic equipments comprising RVS server for HIP mobile host management, HIP proxy for supporting equipments with no HIP protocol, and secure DNS servers which implements the transfer from host domain name to host identity and host IP parse. Because there is no available HIP implementation for the experiment network, the software system should be developed from the beginning. In the paper, the corresponding software design and implementation is introduced, including RVS server, HIP proxy and hosts addresses management of HIP. There are six parts of this paper. In the first part, the whole situation is introduced. In the second part, HIP is introduced and analyzed. And the third part which is the key part of this paper introduces the design and implementation scheme of HIP experiment network and the part in the charge of me. In the fourth part, specific software system flow is illustrated. At last, the testing data are analyzed, the completed work has been summarized and the future work is presented.
