| ICE(In-circuit Emulators) is an important component for the designing of Embeded system,it is also a strong tool for developing Embeded syetem.The ICE of this paper is aimed at the ARM MUC of SUMSUNG Inc,This kind of chip adopted the ARM7TDMI as the core of the CPU. It usually used widely for the audiophile and other consumptive product,so it is very significant for us to study the ICE for the series CPU of ARM. We introduced the study and design of process of the ICE for ARM7 series CPU in this paper.The ICE has the based emulating performance of download ,breakpoint,step,read and write the area of memory,read and write the register and I/O port.It is a powered tool for application and developing with ARM7 processor, the structure of hardware is brief,the cost is low,all the performance of Emulating realizing by FPGA,It allowed us update the ICE according to the your actural necessity.In this paper,at first,we introduced the system of development and ICE.Then,we studied the platform of co-design for SOC,this platform is QuartursII writed by Altera Inc.Finlly,we presented a kind of whole scheme and have completed the design of circuit,meanwhile,we descripted each period of the design and the detail imformation of the hardware circuit.The communication way between ICE and target are RS-232 and JTAG interface which is sereis communication.The communication between HOST and ICE is Ethnet and PIO.In addition,we verified and emulated the emulating logic by Register Transfer Language.Last of all,we presented the test program and circuit with QUARTURSII.The result of test prove that the emulator we designed is feasible. There are two charactor of this ICE ,one is the application of SOPC,another is the method of design is co-design. |
