The development of computer science and information technology made a great advancement of the Digital signal process technology. The design and function of DSP become more and more perfect. Using DSP in the field where need High-speed data process was popularity. Great market and big practicality merit are waiting for DSP in each field. All this conditions make DSP become one of the most popular products in the electronic industry . So design ourselves DSP is a very important thing and have great meaning to our country—both in scientific and society.For this reason, the author participated a group to design a DSP and responsible for the work of design data-path. This text discussed the design of Adder, Multiplication, ALU and Shifter.Adder has extensive applications in data-path , this text discuss the principle and structure of some adders, for meet the request of the TMs32054xDSP, finded tow kind of design, compared them then find the appropriate design.Multiplication can complete a great deal of FIR operation, making the speed and the function of processor become sooner and better , the function of the multiplication is the key way that measures the performance of DSP. On the base of discussion the Booth, W-T, 4-2comperss, compared the function of several kinds of Multiplication, design a MBA-WT multiplication.In the design of ALU and Shifter, discussion the ALU structure and the way that carry out the Shifter. In order to design the ALU and Shifter with high performance to carry on the beneficial trial, this can be use for reference for later researcher.
