Research And Implementation Of A Campus Network Model

The construction of a campus network is a synthetic project being full of advanced science and technology. It involves lots of problems of both technique and management. It is a challenging work to design a campus network working well and being safe. With the rapid development of techniques of computers and network communication, some new ideas and methods are proposed to solve the problems that campus networks are facing now.By the analysis of the newest technique characteristic of computer network, the comparison of several typical campus network models and a study of several important problems on network technique are made, which covers three-layer switching technique, the VLAN dividing, the exploiting application system based on WEB and other key techniques. The three-layer switching network model which is well fit for campus network based on superposition VLAN is proposed.In this thesis, as a critical problem, the safety of campus network is discussed in detail. The factors which threaten the security of campus network are pointed out. By the analysis of the security problems existing in the campus network, a multi-layer security model is proposed which applies the system software and network facilities such as firewall, router, switch and server, etc.Finally, a realization of the proposed campus network model is constructed.
