Nowadays, the industrial product line increases ceaselessly. The Distributed Control System (DCS) has been applied more and more widely and has become the mainstream in the controlling field. As a developing system, applications of many new technologies promote the development of DCS. Along with the rapid applications of Fieldbus technology and Industrial Ethernet, there is a new model of structure for DCS. That is, it combines with Fieldbus technology and Industrial Ethernet, and becomes a new type which is more competitive.Fieldbus is one of the hottest topics in automation field, which is whole scattered, intelligent, bi-directional, interconnected, multivariable and multipoint communication network used between local meter and control room. And now CANBUS is one of the most widely used Fieldbus. It is applicable to the field of Process Control, Textile Machinery, Robot, CNC Machine, Sensors and so on. CANBUS has many advanced characters such as low cost, high reliability, real-time, anti-interference and so on which makes it a good prospects. Industrial Ethernet is technically compatible with the business Ethernet and also can meet the stringent requirements in the industrial field. Since Industrial Ethernet is fast, deterministic, real-time, stable and reliable, therefore, it has been developing rapidly. How to integrate the Fieldbus technology and Industrial Ethernet into each other and complete the both to make up for the shortfall will be the new direction.Under this background, based on analyzing the working theory and the implementation of CANBUS, the thesis designs the intelligent measuring and controlling modules, which can meet the technical requirements of the industrial equipments in the new DCS system. It uses blocking structure in the designation. The modules can be inserted in the vertical slot and support the plug and play function. It can communicate with the control station by CANBUS. The function of the modules is mainly to carry out the data collection and the communication with the control station. The modules collect the monitoring data and manage it. Then formatted data is sent to the control station by GANBUS. And meanwhile the modules receive the commands from the control station to fulfill the corresponding operations such as the channel configuration, etc. Finally the modules return the confirm information to the control station. So it achieves the centralized control after all the processes above. There are many kinds of modules such as digital input (DI), digital output (DO), standard analog input (AI), standard analog output (AO), analog mV-Signal input(for example, thermo-resistance measure signal, thermocouple measure signal, etc.) and protocol conversion bridge, etc.. So the system has a good system expansibility which makes the connection with the third-part device conveniently. The modules have many functions such as the signal collection, the data management, the fault alarm, the signal drop detection and etc. Each module has been isolated to protect the CPU from the industrial scene interference. And meanwhile it can automatically diagnose the fault to ensure the reliable operation. As a very important part of the new DCS, the performance of the modules becomes more and more stable and will be more and more intelligent.
