Flex-based Ria Applications And Research

With the rapid development of computer network technologies,Internet has emerged as the default platform for application development.Unfortunately the demand to build applications of increasing complexity has continued to outpace the ability of traditional Web applications to represent that complexity.Fortunately,we are now seeing widespread deployment of rich Internet application(RIA),a new class of applications that combines the responsiveness and interactivity of desktop applications with the broad reach and ease of distribution of the Web.Adobe Flex is the most comprehensive solution for delivering RIAs across the enterprise and over the Web.Flex provides a highly productive development model that easily integrates with existing processes and is based on standards and best pratices that have emerged over the last ten years of Internet development.The Flex development model uses MXML for user interface design and layout and an implementation of ECMAScript for client logicIn this paper,Firstly,we analyze the main disadvantages(such as the develp period is too long,the costs is too high,users' exprience is dissatisfied etc.)of classic Web applications.to meet the needs of the developmental trend of software and to solve the problems of traditional Web application,we bring forward the develop platform based on RIA.Secondly,we emphasize the implemental principle,methods and technology of RIA system.we mainly discuss Flex data services and data communication between Flex and server-side(ColdFusion and Java).we also introduced apollo which is the next rich desktop application development technology.Finally,as a exmaple,we made a online FLV video player based flex 2.
