Arm-based In-vehicle Gps / Gprs System

This thesis analyzes the problems of vehicle-management at present. It gives a validdesign method which is based ARM9 microprocessor and combines the GPS(GlobalPositioning System) and GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) in the newly product. Itprovides a new and efficient controlling and managing way for the transport in the moderncities.The vehicle terminal obtains the positioning data from GPS module, extracts someuseful messages that we need, displays them on the screen and sends out by GPRS module.The vehicle management-department receives the messages by networks, and then adoptssome tactics to maintain the traffic order.The design includes two parts: hardware and software. The hardware design iscomprised of ARM, memory, SDRAM, GPS module circuit and GPRS module circuitwhile The software design adopts Qt for graphic user interface(GUI), utilizes multi-threadsfor extracting GPS Info and Sending GPRS messages. Between the hardware and softwareis embedded Linux system, it includes Bootloader, kernel, file-system and so on.At the end, the thesis summaries the completed works, and gives the methods forfurther improvement.
