Wireless sensor network research is catching more and more attention as its wide applications in environmental monitoring, smart offices, battlefield surveillance and so on. A WSN is composed of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes, using the data collected by the sensor nodes to realize the aim of monitoring. WSN promises surveillance with possibly unprecedented accuracy in the hazardous or unfriendly environment, but due to that WSN has the characteristics of battery limited and bad application environment, and its sensor nodes often appear to be temporal useless or eternal useless, and spiteful attack may destroy the sensor nodes. All these factors can greatly affect the reliability of wireless sensor networks. At the same time, as battery-limit of WSN, we make reliability and energy-efficiency as the design goals of wireless sensor network.Hierarchical management is widely applied in the wireless sensor networks, since it can not only provide flexible, reliable communication but also promote the expansibility of the network, these networks are called Clustering Network. Considering the above advantages of Clustering Network, we choose clustering Network to be our research object in this paper. The Clustering Network is divided into clusters, which are composed of the cluster head and some members. In the paper we firstly introduce the concepts of wireless sensor clustering network, energy-efficiency and reliability, then we introduce some classical clustering algorithms, finally based on clustering network we analyze the node's energy consumption and the energy consumption of information transmission during the operation time of wireless sensor network. We provide two algorithms which are energy efficient and reliable. They are called EETRC and EERRC. They not only improve the lifetime of network, but also improve the network reliability.EETRC reduces the negative effect of CHs'failures by setting CH-assistant nodes. The algorithm successfully balances the energy loads of cluster heads to prolong the network lifetime and improves the networks'reliability towards intentional attack. Considering the energy limit of sensor nodes, we adopt an optimized transmission mode between the cluster head, CH-assistant node and the sink node to avoid the energy wastage caused by long distance transmission; thus prolong the lifetime of sensor networks. The simulation results show that EETRC improves the energy-efficiency and topology's reliability of WSN.We find that CH's rest energy will drops sharply if it transmits information over a long distance by theory analyse. EERRC chooses some sensor nodes according to their geography in the network to establish a fixed and well-topology data transmission network. Then CH can transmit data to base station through this data transimission network to avoid long distance transmission. The data transmission network is easy to realize reliable multi-paths routing. So in this way it improves routing reliability and energy-efficiency of network. The simulation results show that EERRC improves the network's lifetime in the ideal communication environment, and it can promise the reliability and good energy-efficiency at the same time when the communication environment is bad.
