This dissertation is mainly on the design of a miniaturization Ka band up-converter module using Hybrid Integrated circuit. Compared kinds of method, considering the capability of the up-converter, the confine processing technology in nation, and the technical difficult, the design adopt local power multiplier based on basic wave up-converter.First give a survey on millimeter-wave technology, the development of the up-converter and the motive of research this up-converter module is also given in this chapter. Then decide the system design frame based on the system capability and the miniaturization and reliability request, use local power multiplier based on basic wave up-converter to complete the design .At the end, arrange the target for every component. Base on the frame, we design the module .First gave an analytical expression for millimeter-wave active frequency multiplier, and discussed the principle and the theory .After the simulation in the all working frequency band , the converter gain can lager than minus 3dB.Followly theory and technique of mixer are discussed .Then various mixers are compared, and millimeter wave single-balance planar integrated mixer is designed .Also millimeter-wave parallel couple band-pass filter and gain amplifier are designed.At last, on the basis of above work, the millimeter-wave up-converter module is realized by consist of a active frequency doubler, a single-balance up converter, three filters, and two gain amplifiers. From the result, we can find that the circuit satisfies the design demands. The whole circuit size is 52×47mm~2.
