| Millimeter wave detector is a common component in millimeter wave system. At present, there have been millimeter wave detector products for engineering practice in abroad. In domestic, however, we are just proficient in microwave detector design, and do little research in millimeter wave detector design. The detectors we use are always bought from abroad when the frequency of detected signal reaches to millimeter wave band, so there are important engineering values for this researching. For the Ka-band microstrip, W-band microstrip, W-band finline and W-band CPW(Coplanar Waveguide) detectors, the dissertation mainly researches and discusses the theory, simulation method, model building, passive circuits such as transition, match network and filter . In the end, we completed the circuits design. In the aspect of researching method, for the passive transition parts and low pass filter of detectors, we chose the field analysis method, used the three-dimensional full-wave field analysis software to simulate. And for the match part, because the diode is nonlinear, the model of diode based on the equivalent impedance in the field simulation software is not exact apparently; we mainly used the circuit analysis method. We used full-wave analysis software to extract S matrix of passive parts, and imported into the circuit simulation software to optimize and simulate the match part. Because the circuit simulation software is inexact in W-band, we depended on the debugging finally. The design result proved the feasibility of design method. The veracity of diode modeling influences the reliability of the simulation results directly. Especially in millimeter wave band, it is difficult to design the match network, because the influence of diode parasitic parameters becomes severe. We have used several kinds of match networks and experimented time after time to get a good result. Furthermore, we should use kinds of electromagnetic field analysis methods flexibly to make the simulation results have good agreement with the test results, and make the engineering design conveniently. This paper is divided into seven chapters, and every chapter is introduced as follows: The chapter one mainly introduces the basic knowledge about millimeter wave and the job I have done. The chapter two presents the theory of detector, and introduces three different millimeter wave transmission lines such as mircostrip line, finline and CPW.The chapter three introduces the basic electromagnetism simulation methods. The chapter four introduces the theory and simulation result of four kinds of passive transition circuits, including waveguide to microstrip antipodal finline transition, waveguide to microstrip probe transition, waveguide to unilateral finline transition and waveguide to CPW probe transition. The chapter five makes detailed introductions for the Ka-band microstrip detector in structure, simulation, finished product and test result. The chapter six makes detailed introductions for the W-band microstrip, finline and CPW detectors in structure, simulation, finished product and test result. The chapter seven is the result. |
