With the rapid development of Computer Graphics, the need for accurately digitalized and object models is increasing in the fields of Virtual Reality, Digital Library, Digital City, Reverse Engineering, etc. 3D laser scanning plays in irreplaceable role in these fields for its advantages in fast and accurate data acquisition and adaptability to complex objects and thus shows it's a sophisticated and promising technology. During the research of its critical techniques, surface reconstruction is emphasized, but texture feature processing is ignored. However, reconstructing models with texture features or even reconstructing photorealistic models is essential for applications with demand for visual reality. The problem of visually real texture mapping is presented, and the solution is found based on principium of texture mapping and light theory. The primary work of this paper includes:(1) The theory and technology of 3D reconstruction is discussed after a review about the 3D laser scanner (LMS) in our laboratory. Then the visually real problem resulting from illumination difference of the textures is presented.(2) The illumination model and illumination consistency technology are researched. Then global automatic texture relighting algorithm is presented, which produces betterl effect in indoor and outdoor scenes without building shelter from each other. For outdoor large-scale scene, a improved relighting arithmetic based on model is presented. Experiment results are analyzed as well.(3) Ray-tracing and accelerating have been researched and analyzed carefully. A ray-tracing procedure has been designed to simulate the shadow effect and visually reality rendering. At the same time, the arithmetic has been applied on visually reality rendering. The above algorithms are all realized with VC++ and OpenGL, and also tested with the data acquired by the laser scanner in our laboratory. Experimental results prove that textured models has higher visually reality. And visually real effect is gained by placing the model in a new illumination scene.
