| RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a wireless communication technology to identify tagged people or objects. As the fast development of this technology, the applications of RFID are expanding rapidly too. From supply chain managements in industrial areas to personal stuff tracking, RFID has reached many aspects of social life.Low frequency RFID systems are fully developed, but with limited read range and data rate. The UHF (Ultra High Frequency) RFID system has the advantages of long reading distance, fast reading speed, and etc. Nowadays, it has become a new trend in RFID research. EPC-C1G2 protocol is one of the most popular protocols in UHF passive RFID. It has absorbed the newest achievements of other protocols. So it has the best performance and been widely applied. And there are many tags applied to the protocol.This paper has finished the research of the RFID reader based on EPC-C1G2 protocol. The main jobs of the wok are described below.1. Analyze the technical features and parameters of EPC-C1G2 protocol. Research the theory and basic structure of passive RFID in UHF. Discuss the communication links of the whole system.2. Design the transmitter front-end. Analyze the theory and parameters of PLL, modulator and amplifier. Finish building the circuits, plotting the layout and testing.3. Design the receiver front-end. Analyze the features of RFID reader receiving channel. Discuss how to realize the isolation and zero-IF receiver. Finish preprocessing of low frequency analog signal. Solve the problem of DC offsets and recovery.4. Design the circuit and software of logic control module. The main structure of the module is formed by MCU and FPGA. Programming languages are C language and VHDL. Finish the simulating and testing of every function blocks.5. Finally, finish the testing of the whole system and realize the basic function of EPC-C1G2 protocol. |
