| Because of complex terrain of Zhejiang province, the amount of the highway tunnels is increasing. And constant emergence of long tunnel, super long tunnel and tunnel group is a feature of the highway construction in Zhejiang Province. Traditional highway tunnel management uses periodical manual report, so outdated data and inconsistent data format is inevitable. Therefore it is important to develop the GIS-based highway tunnel information management system for the efficient, standardized and intelligent management of highway tunnels.Zhejiang Province highway tunnel information management system is developed using Windows 2000 Server + Microsoft SQL Server platform, combined with GIS technology. Most system functions is based on B / S model of three-layers BWD structure, the rest functions (such as database maintenance, user authority management), which is developed for full-time staff , is based on C / S model. Using MapXtreme Server as GIS Web page publisher, as well as MapInfo Professional as GIS development tool, the system can generate dynamic electronic maps according to the information in basic highway tunnel information database and the basic geography information database. The system implements the visual output of the analysis results of highway tunnel information, thus dynamically reflects the highway tunnel status through out the province. The practical usefulness of the system is provided by user-oriented database establishment, which is based on extensive, detailed and in-depth survey of users'purpose and the specific condition of each region. The proposed system has some advantages such as easy to use and convenient to search dynamic highway tunnel information at anytime and anywhere. It not only provides timely, exact, comprehensive information about highway tunnels for highway manager, but also provides various graph and report of statistics and analysis of highway tunnel information for various users such as transport logistics company and vehicle owners. So the system provides efficient measures for the information management of highway tunnels and scientific basis for decision-making... |
