With more than 10 years'development, Mobile communication network of Sichuan Mobile has been developed from the initial analog network to the present GSM network. Now with the network in such great scale, Tandem Network, Signaling Network, Data Packet Network and other networks superimposed to form a very complicated network. As the basic network, Transmission Network accordingly needs large scale construction to meet the requirements of rapid growth in business demand. Because of this, our construction and maintenance staffs keep busy with network expansion and adjustment.Obviously, if we continue to develop our network based on the traditional TDM Switching Technology, we will soon plunge into the passive statue where operating cost increasing rapidly and working efficiency remaining extremely low. Therefore Technological Change is desperately needed. Constant evaluation of traditional network will bring powerful driving force to the sustainable development of Mobile Network.Stand on the technology road sign of 3GPP network evaluation, through carefully analyzing the existed network structure, this paper brought forward the Soft Switch Structure based on the separation of bearing-control, and it also introduced the step-by-step implementation of Core Network IP Evaluation. That is, first: transformation of Tandem Network, second: IP evolution of local network; Final: IP evolution of Signaling Network. Through technical innovation of the network, gradually we would realize Marginalization of TDM in the existed network, which will lay a solid foundation for IP evolution of the whole network.Meanwhile, IP evolution is also an important precondition to mutual integration of 2G and 3G network. To promote network integration efficiently and fully utilize of the existed network resource, the concrete implementing scheme and the Key points were also introduced in this paper according to the different development stage of 3G network.Through the exploration of IP evolution and 2/3G integration, this paper has strong practicability and pertinence to break the network development bottleneck of our company, promote Mobile Network Evolution, and instruct Construction/Maintenance staff in IP evolution and 3G network construction.
