Mobile Ad Hoc network is a group of wireless transceivers with the mobile terminal device comprising a multi-hop temporary autonomous system. Nodes in network do not rely on fixed infrastructure or central administration. It is a distributed system, and the routing between nodes is normally consisted of the network segment. Therefore, it is also known as multi-hop wireless networks or self-organized network.The research on Ad Hoc networks is been hot discussed in the telecommunications industry currently. Ad Hoc network routing protocol research is particularly important because of its non-center and self-organization. Routing are the main functions of Network layer. It's also an important part of Ad Hoc network, which undertake the task of transmission and forwarding data quickly and efficiently. The support of routing protocol is necessary if we want to achieve multi-hop routing. The trend of large-scale is more and more strongly in the development of Ad Hoc networks. The main difficult in routing protocols are large scales and highly dynamic changes, which the traditional routing protocols can not meet the requirements. It is necessary to develop a new Ad Hoc network routing protocol apply to large-scale and highly dynamic change network.The topics focus on the current Ad Hoc network business needs, aims at some of the important performance of network routing, such as low latency, high success rate, low protocol overhead and large throughput, develpes routing technology which can adapt to large-scale and high-speed dynamic changes of Ad Hoc network environment. Based on LANMAR routing protocol, we have done some research of the following aspects.(1) Give a general overview of the main features of Ad Hoc network, and expatiate the development and research progress of current Ad Hoc network routing protocols.(2) Point out that LANMAR routing protocol is applicable to large-scale and highly dynamic changed Ad Hoc network through a wide range of existing Ad Hoc network routing protocol research and analysis. While the combination of LANMAR and FSR routing protocol can achieve the current Ad Hoc network routing technology efficiently. (3) Propose a hierarchical routing technology with backbone nodes in network, which applies to large-scale Ad Hoc network. According to the idea, we have designed BN-LANMAR routing protocol based on LANMAR, which can better meet the current Ad Hoc network development needs.(4) Build Ad Hoc network simulation platform through OPNET simulation tool. Implemente LANMAR and BN-LANMAR routing protocol algorithm on the platform respectively. Verify both the feasibility and superiority of the two protocols through data collection and comparion. Provide reference to the design of Ad Hoc network routing protocol in large-scale and high-speed dynamic wireless network environment.
