The engineering machinery monitoring system utilize computer technology, CAN bus, wireless communication and GPRS to monitor the engineering machinery working conditions and position. It's a complex and huge system, and widely concern many fields. Because of the specificity of their work environment, it requires the particularly high of system security and stability. With the development and maturation of embedded system technology gradually, high reliability, miniaturization and intelligent will be the direction of development. The paper uses the three-stage network of the bottom unit control system, vehicle minitoring system and the remote minitoring system to monitor the bottom of the crane control unit safety. The system introduces the CAN bus to the monitoring system, researches the Hilon A protocol which based on the CAN bus protocol, and implementes the communication of the bottom units. The middle layer bases the S3C2410 and Linux as the core, integration of embedded technology, real-time collects the parameters of working conditions, such as the weight, wind speed and angle, then calculating and comparing the datas, displays the prompt information with the Qt/Embedded . Finally studying the GPRS network, the system completes the communication of the remote datas and the remote terminal monitor. This paper describes the hardware design of every part in detail, and based on the hardware platform, completes the Linux OS transplantation, achieves the Bootloader and constructs root file system. Then basing on the Linux operation system, the drivers, such as Frame Buffer, Touch-Sensitive Screen, A/D converter, CAN bus, GPRS communication, PPP script dial-up, Socket programming have been finished. In the end, the Qt/Embedded was transplanted successfully, providing a friendly graphical user interface.
