China Environment News Reported (1978 ~ 2008)

Nowadays, environmental protection has become the focus of world attention, environmental protection has attached great importance by all counteies, and at the same time,environmental campaign carried out in the world. As a big responsible country, China lead the pack of the environmental protection. The 17 th National Congress of the CPC made it clear that China wants to build a resource thrift and environment-friendly society and firmly establish the concept of ecoligical civilization in the whole society.Over the past 30 years since the reform and open in up,the problem of environment has from the edge to the core and has led to extensive concern of all circles in society. In 1985,the China Environment News has beenestablished, and in 1986,Chinese Association of Environment journalists was founded.China becomes a member of International Organization of Environmental Journalists in 1993.In the popularization and promotion of the environmental protection,as a social and environmental monitoring,with its rapid response,the report ture,wide implications and powerful features, the News Media has been and is playing an active and effcetive role in the order to push the whole society to attach great importance of environmetal protcetion and ecological construction,and realize the fully sustainable development.This paper choses People's Daily as pattern to focus on the development trend of Chinese environmental news reports, and use the content analysis method analyze its the number of the news,page place,news style,illustrate or not proportion relations between national news and international news proportion relations between positive reports and negative reports.Based on my study, to quest for improvement of environmental news and building a resource thrift and environment friendly society.
