The development of communication system is growing rapidly with the increasing amount of information and improvement of the communication. Modern communication system is characterized by model of intelligent and green. Antenna is an essential component of communication system. Antenna's function directly affects the wireless communication system performance.From the primitive spark discharge producing electromagnetic waves to today's large antenna arrays, the development of antenna has also experienced the period of nearly a hundred years. The type of antenna is more and more abundant. The emergence of ultra-wideband antenna is very important milestone in the history of antenna field. It has created the condition for the development of ultra-wideband communications.Monopole antenna is the most basic antenna, which is applied in many fields. Ultra-wideband planar monopole antenna has appeared with the development of ultra-wideband antenna technology. The miniaturization of equipment also requires antenna miniaturization and planarization. Spectrum resources are increasing tense now. UWB band proposed by FCC includes a number of bands used in other communication systems. In order to avoid unnecessary interference and reduce the size of RF front-end, the research about band-notched Ultra-Wideband Planar Antenna is also very meaningful.To achieve certain function in special conditions, such as to achieve high gain and beam scanning, it is necessary to let the antenna array, the research about antenna array is very important.This first chapter describes the most basic antenna theory and antenna parameter index. Summarize the methods concerning expanding microstrip bandwidth. Analyze the microstrip impedance converter.The second chapter is the first key of this thesis. Two kinds of ultra-wideband planar monopole antenna are analyzed in detail. Antenna bandwidth is from 2.4GHz to12GHz, the peak gain of antenna is 6dB. Size of the antenna is 36mm×34mm× 1.5mm. Antenna structure is simple. The characteristic of omni-directional is good. Meet the requirements of ultra-wideband communications.The third chapter is the second key of the thesis. The band-notch planar antenna for UWB is analyzed. Design a kind of band-notch planar antenna for UWB based on reading many literatures. Two band-notches are achieved by parasitic patch and DGS. The frequency of the first band-notch is from 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz. The frequency of the second band-notch is from 5.1GHz to 5.7GHz. The structure of the antenna would influence the function of antenna. The chapter analysis that these parameters how to affect the antenna.At the beginning of the fourth chapter, analyze the principle of Power-divider. Design a four equal power divide through ADS software. Design a four-element microstrip antenna array. Aperture coupled microstrip antenna is used. The gain is 6dB at the working frequency. Increase the gain to 10.6dB by arraying the signal antenna. Learn the knowledge about antenna array through this most basic antenna array.The fifth chapter is conclusion and outlook. Analyze the problems in the paper and prepare for the next step.
