Environmental Problems And Social Impact In Industrial Development Of Pastoral Areas

Since the Western-exploitation policy implemented in 2000, there has been an upsurge in resource mining in Inner Mongolia, and which not only contributes to the rapid growth in GDP, but also brings environmental degradation and various negative influences to local society. The thesis represents the formation process of those problems on the basis of case study in Bayan-Tsogt town, Dorben Heuhediin Banner and puts forward possible solutions.The thesis was written on the basis of fieldwork outcomes. The author interviewed herders from Bayan-Tsogt town, and also collected other related materials.The thesis consists of three parts:introduction, main text (three chapters) and conclusion.In the part of introduction, the author explains the project proposal including the reason, importance, methodology of the research and previous study.The first chapter of the main part introduces the basic information of field site and its ecological condition.The second chapter explains the environmental issue and its influence over herders’ lives.The third chapter analyzes the problems with related theories, and put forwards suggestions to solve the problems.In the conclusion part, the author summarizes the contents and arguments.
