Taiwan and the mainland cultures are of the same strain culture, back to ancient times. But in more than a century, due to some historical reasons, the two sides experienced different social change, appeared many new cultural characteristics, formed distinctive local culture on the basis of the original culture. In recent years, cross-strait economic and trade ties become closer, more and more Taiwan-funded enterprises come to the mainland to invest and set up factories. Analyzing and comparing cross-strait cultural differences exist on both sides and problems of intercultural human resource management caused by these differences have become important issues in the cross-cultural research field. Firstly, this paper elaborated concepts and theories of intercultural human resource management, analyzed cultural differences and cultural conflicts inside the Taiwan-funded enterprises; Then this paper selected mainland Taiwan-funded enterprises’ typical representative- Foxconn, presented this company’s development and intercultural status quo of human resources management; Finally, this paper analyzed the problems in Foxconn’s intercultural human resource management and put forward the corresponding measures for improvement, in order to provide reference for cross-cultural management of Taiwan-funded enterprises. |
