Improving agricultural productivity is the important aspect to promote agricultural economic development and solve the three rural issues. There are two way which can improve agricultural productivity is increase inputs and improve the agricultural factor productivity. But the traditional way to increase input is not the appropriate way. So improving agricultural total factor productivity is contribute to agricultural productivity, agriculture upgrading and agricultural economic development. The present studies is limited to provincial level and did not have a depth study in influence factors on TFP. So it is meaningful to study the influence agricultural total factor productivity.So this dissertation will measure the growth and trend of agricultural total factor productivity in cities of Jiangsu province from 2001 to 2014 by the method of DEA-Malmquist index, In combination with the Solow Complementary Method, we can get the value of agricultural total factor productivity from 2000 to 2014. And next we carry out the convergence analysis of agricultural total factor productivity, it including the σ convergence analysis, relatively β convergence analysis and absolutely β convergence analysis. Finally we analyzed the influence factors by using Panel Data Model from Jiangsu province and the three area of Jiangsu province.The results are as following: first, in the period of 2000-2014, The agricultural total factor productivity growth in Jiangsu province is 3.7%, and higher than average level in China,and mainly relies on technological progress, whereas the growth of technical efficiency is inhibition to the agricultural total factor productivity in Jiangsu province;second, The level of economic development in region is closely related to the agricultural total factor productivity, The southern Jiangsu is higher than the central Jiangsu, and the northern Jiangsu; third, By the result of the convergence analysis, we can find the agricultural total factor productivity of Jiangsu province didn’t have any convergence, It means the gap between 13 city’s agricultural total factor productivity will be bigger. fourth,the agricultural total factor productivity in different area in Jiangsu province is large gaps, And the influence factors is also different, So when we make a policy, We should consider its local conditions; fifth, For the Jiangsu province, the capital investment per worker have a U-shaped relationship with TFP, and the per capita arable land、dependence on foreign trade、agricultural expenditure have a forward relationship with TFP, but the urbanization rate and agricultural structure adjustment factor is negative correlation with TFP in Jiangsu province. So, for addressing the problems above-mentioned, we consider that increase investment in agricultural science and technology 、 accelerate the conversion of agricultural technology、increasing the financial support、expand the operation scale and so on.
