The Changing Trend Research Of Agricultural Total Factor Productivity In China

This paper is an empirical study on the trend and composition of agricultural total factor productivity in the process of agricultural economic development in China. Total factor productivity is a measure of the quality of economic growth. It is a comprehensive reflection of the effect of technological progress on economic development. China agricultural extensive growth is not sustainable, agricultural development must be transferred to rely on improving the intensive agricultural total factor productivity growth,at present, China’s economic development entered the new normal, shift down economic growth, in the the new normal context,motive force of the development of agriculture should shift the before depending on the factor inputs to depending on the improvement of agricultural total factor.Firstly, through sorting the existing literature,understand the present situation of research of agricultural total factor productivity, technical progress and technical efficiency, including research methods, influence factors,affect ways, decomposition method and research direction, have deeper understanding of existing agricultural total factor productivity research, and on the basis of summary of previous research results and research experience and found that the lack of research in the present stage to put forward my own research ideas and methods.Secondly, from the point of view of input and output analyzing the current situation of the development of Chinese agriculture; moreover, based on the panel data of 28 provinces, using DEA method to measure the 1978-2012 years of agricultural total factor productivity, the rate of technological progress, the improvement of technical efficiency and scale efficiency, analysis the agricultural total factor productivity changes and the contribution of agriculture rate, and Eastern, central and western agricultural total factor productivity and decomposition of differences, and puts forward policy recommendations to improve China agriculture total factor productivity.
