Since Michael Hammer published the article "Reengineering work: don't automate, obliterate" on "Harvard Business Review" in 1990, BPR, the second industrial and commercial management revolution that is considered to be following total quality management (TQM ) revolution of the eighties, has quickly aroused obvious response at management theory circle and attracted the concern of numerous scholars. Afterwards, Reengineering appeared in the business circles and became the fashionable management style in 1990s and remains so till now. The thought of reengineering breaks Adam Smith's labor divison theory which modern enterprise organizations base on and advocates that enterprises should reorganize based on business process instead of expertise and put their emphasis on business process so as to establish their advantages in this era marked by increasingly fierce competition, diversifying customer demands and highly uncertain outside circumstances.Meanwhile, ever since the appearing of internet, it has developed at full speed worldwide. Connected computers and the number of users of network are increasing sharply every day, economic globalization takes shape progressively. At Internet age, enterprises face globalized market of huge demand as well as global competition. The opportunity and challenge coexist. How to fully utilize the computer and network technology to further strengthen one's own competition advantage and achieve growth at Internet age is the subject that every enterprise faces. While the economic globalization makes the competition fierce day by day, it also makes the cooperation between enterprises more and more important. It is a kind of " competitive cooperation ". Enterprises realize gradually that one's own ability and resource are very limited after all in the economy that is globalized and they must learn to utilize outside resources and cooperate with other enterprises to strengthen one's own competition advantage . The new technology has facilitated the formulation of new management practice and management theories. With the development and application of information technology and network, management philosophy such as supply chain management(SCM), customer relation management(CRM) become the focus of the management field, attract the scholars' concern and become different ways through which enterprises obtain the competitionadvantage. As to the range of reengineering, supply chain management focuses on business process in the whole supply chain, while customer relation management focuses on the business process related to enterprise's marketing, selling, serving ,etc. As to the depth of reengineering, there are 2 ways of BPR, namely, Clean sheet approach which is radical innovation and Systematic redesign approach which is progressive change. Different depth and different range reflect different modes of reengineering. We name the Clean sheet approach, Systematic redesign approach, SCM and CRM the pattern of BPR. This dissertation exactly studies different patterns of these kinds of BPR under the circumstance of internet and mainly focuses on the relationship among SCM, CRM and BPR and how should enterprises make their decision among them. Existing BPR theories mainly confine their insight in the inner part of enterprise, while research on inter-enterprises process reengineering is just beginning and is also the developing direction of BPR theory. The research on the relationship among BPR, SCM and CRM is beneficial to the expanding of BPR theories to the outside of business organization and further develop current BPR theory. This dissertation is divided into five parts altogether. Chapter one is the introduction, including the reason of selecting this subject, theoretical meaning, value, document survey and basic train of thought. Chapter two sums up the BPR theory, analyses mainly the formulation of the theory, intension and feature of the concept of BPR, principle, content and implementation frame of reengineering and gives a complete frame of theory to reengineering. Chapter three analyses the impact on enterprise's business process by Internet. The business process here not merely refers to the procedure inside enterprises but also includes the procedure outside enterprises. This chapter probe into the impact on enterprises purchase process, SCM and CRM brought by Internet Based on the analysis in the previous chapters, chapter four explains at first the definition of the pattern of BPR, then analyses Clean sheet approach and Systematic redesign approach and some kinds of reengineering patterns such as SCM and CRM. This chapter mainly focuses on the relationship among SCM, CRM and BPR. On the basis of explaining these kinds of patterns of reengineering, chapter five analyses factors of varying weights, suitable terms that enterprises must consider when choosing their own reengineering patterns and provide principles instructing enterprises to choose differentreengineering patterns.
