In recent years, China's prospective macro economy has afforded theretailing industry a lot of opportunities. China's accession into WTO hasbrought some challenges, but it also infused new vigor into the retailingindustry. As a result, many large retailing enterprises have been exploring howto survive and win in the fierce competition. Therefore, this paper will focuson the Strategy of China's large retailing enterprises in the hope of givingsome hint for those large retailing enterprises.This paper believes that chain store and portfolio retailing will be thefuture of China's retailing industry especially those large retailing enterprises.In Chapter Three, this paper discussed the advantages of chain store andportfolio retailing in detail, that is, as a clustered economy of scale, chainstore is not limited by the store expansion, and it saves a lot of transactioncost. Then by citing the complementary development between theconvenience store and supermarket, this paper proves that taking theadvantages of different features of various types of operation will benefit thedevelopment of retailing industry. In Chapter Four, this paper focuses on theinformation technology application in retailing industry and believes thatinformation technology assure the success of the retailing industry.The case study of "Qingdao Weekly Group" has been cited throughoutthe discussion of this paper to further prove the argument.
