Before we begin to discuss on the automotive aftermarket, it isimportant to understand the definition, as well as the composition, of thissector and the environment in which auto aftermarket companies operate. Thetraditional definition for automotive aftermarket is: the market for parts andsupplies for machines, equipment, etc after automotives have been purchased. With the rapid development of the Automotive Industry in China, theautomotive aftermarket is becoming an increasingly important component.Nowadays, this auto aftermarket no longer just simply contains the parts andrepairs but also contains manufacturing, remanufacturing, distributions,retailing of vehicle parts, tools, equipments, accessories, chemicals and, mostimportant services. Compared with the developed countries, especially those economicgiants, Chinese domestic auto aftermarket is with great potential and containsa lot of profitable business opportunities. Beijing Gong Lian Shun Da Traffic Management Limited Company(GLSD) is a state owned enterprise. It is the biggest traffic managementcompany in Beijing and specialized in parking management, occupying over80% of Beijing parking management market share. Considering the marketopportunities and advantages of the company, it is, as a matter of fact, theright time for GLSD to enter the domestic auto aftermarket. This thesis will discuss how GLSD can exert the highly developed autoclub marketing mode to make itself bigger and stronger in Beijing automotiveaftermarket.
