In 1997, the Asian financial crisis had disturbed the pace of the East Asian economic development, and the East Asian Miracle which had been growing over 30 years, was doubted by people, and arose the scholars rethinking and discussion on the East Asian Pattern at home and abroad. They have three different views about the East Asian Pattern. One is the negative theory, they think the East Asian financial crisis has more proved the professor of Paul Krugman had predicted that the East Asian miracle and the East Asian Pattern would end or damage. One is adjustment theory, they think the East Asian Pattern ,which needs to be developed and adjust, has dropped behind in the information and technology time. The third is the positive theory. They think the East Asian Pattern will enter into a glorious ear again after the financial crisis. The financial crisis made people begin to consider calmly their own problems, no more revel in those shadowy words which is "the 21th century is the century of Asia".Most East Asian countries have a colonial and semi-colonial history. And the East Asian Miracle was the result of lots of special conditions. Nowadays lots of intrinsic conditions have changed, so the East Asian Pattern needs to be adjusted correspondingly. Our country has a common boundary with many other countries. The East Asian countries'political and economic development will not only directly influence the development of economy and society in China, but also the building of the Asia-Pacific region political and economical system. In order to promote China and the East Asian countries contact friendly and co-operation, and establish reasonable the Asia- Pacific region political and economical system, we need to strengthen the study of the East Asian areas, especially the East Asian Pattern.Without doubt, the research charters about the East Asian Pattern are very abundant. For example, Chen Junfeng's Analysis and Criticism on Modern Asia-Pacific Region Politics and Economy, Gu Yuanxiang's How do Four Asian Dragons Rise, Lu Jianren's the Asia- Pacific Region Economy in 1990s, Zhang Yunling's the Stability and Safety of the East Asian Economical and SocialDevelopment-----the Lesson from the Financial Crisis and Jim Rohwer's monographsthe Rise of Asia, etc. All these research charters discuss the East Asia Pattern deeply. Papers on the East Asian Pattern are abundant at home and abroad. At first, the thesis discusses the meaning and basic features of the East Asian Pattern, on basis of which it compares the difference between the East Asian Pattern and Latin American Pattern. Secondly, the thesis studies the challenge of the East Asian Pattern, including both unfavorable and favorable factors, and affirms that the developing prospect of the East Asian Pattern still sunshine. After that, from a historical and practical perspective , during the process making adjustments and advances to the East Asian Pattern , it approaches the new countermeasures as follow: strengthening governmental ability in macroscopical guidance, while affirming the role of market;regulating and improving the developing strategy of the pattern in export-guidance economy;while chasing fast development of economy ,paying attention to the building of the social safety-net;improving the innovation of in the science and technology system and financial field. We study the East Asian countries and areas' successful experience in the economical development, with the purpose to serve our national economic construction. Finally, it analyses the influences brought from the pattern on China, believing that it brings China the chance, as well as urging for suitable countermeasures for China to make.
