Since a lot of capital enters the market, the productivity of Elastane is now greater than demand. Marketing comes to a new period with serious competition. Since I work for Dupont Fiber China Co. Ltd (DFC) as a staff of first line management, it's interested for me to do a study about which operation strategy that we should adopt is best for further development. Also it's a practice for me to apply what I learned in the past two years.Operation strategy should be marketing oriented. This is the base of my study. Through investigation in target market, all the operation priorities are listed out, such as quality, cost, service and product difference, etc. After checking current system and operation concept, especially their real performance, some opportunities are found. Suggestions are given accordingly.We try our best to find solution from existing theories and methods, such as 5S, 6Sigma, etc. These theories and methods are all tested by practice already. We know their advantage and disadvantage as well as benefit to adopt them. This can make our suggestions more reasonable. Also other's experience can be reference of application. It'll reduce the possibility of making mistake during application.We try to make suggestions more practical. Some application instructions are given while some formula is listed for applicant judgment. This makes it possible to apply the suggestion directly. It links theory discussion to real operation.By this, I'm glad that I can present some practical suggestions to DFC. Also I get some points that are worth paying some attention when you do similar study next time. I'd like to share them here. Hope we can learn from each other.1, Consider marketing request and cost at the same time when you are trying to set up quality standards. A formula is provided in the article. It can help to avoid unilateral conclusion.2, Concept scope of quality cost is extended. The definition is given as all the input for realization of certain quality standard. All the other expense will be considered as waste. By this definition, it'll be easy for you to define a waste.3, When you conduct a study about operation strategy, please pay some attention to execution capability. Don't focus on strategy itself completely because operation strategy is a very practical issue. No strategy can be accomplished by poor execution capability.4, Look the matter in a long term when you do a strategy study. Hope domestic management can really look things in this way. Not only enterprise but also the society as a whole will benefit from it.
