Scientific asset-liability management techniques originally develop from western commercial banks. Nevertheless, domestic and overseas research on this topic centers on the profitability, safety and liquidity of legal entity of commercial bank as a whole. Little attention has been extended to the asset-liability management research at provincial branch level. As a result, there is no reference available for commercial banks at provincial level when coming across many problems.After discussing related asset-liability management theory and practice of commercial bank, this essay reviews domestic commercial bank's development course featuring monitoring and self-discipline in this regard. In addition, it introduces the history of asset-liability management of Changsha Branch of BOCOM and presents systematic, in-depth and objective analysis of the characteristic, actuality and limitation of asset-liability management. According to the business characteristic of commercial bank at provincial level, this essay analyzes the defects of current asset-liability management index and risk-rating index of monitoring department and ratio management index of Changsha Branch of BOCOM , and redesigns an asset-liability management index suitable for Changsha Branch of BOCOM.
