Evaluation Based On Dea Method Of Third-party Logistics Business Efficiency

In an era of fierce competition, the operational efficiency of third party logistics providers dictates their competitiveness and/or survival. In an effort to help third party logistics providers enhance productivity and operational efficiency in the increasingly competitive third party logistics market, this paper aims to develop a meaningful set of financial benchmarks that will dictate best practices.The paper systematically analyses the status of efficiency of the third-party logistics providers in China on the basis of the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)method, and lays stress on the discussion of the efficiency and the factors that affect the efficiency in the listed third-party logistics providers.The paper take ten listed third-party logistics providers at home as the researching samples on the basis of the conclusion of the research production in existence home and abroad. Then according to the principles of the DEA method, the DEA model is founded when the in-put and out-put variables are confirmed.The paper computers technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of the ten third-party logistics providers from 2000 to 2004. In analysis of the efficiency values of the third-party providers, comparative analysis is made respectively between companies and years.We make comparative analysis of technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency while choosing the year 2004 as the model sample. And we also study the change's trend of the third-party logistics providers in the efficiencies above mentioned chronologically. Take the year 2004 for example, the optimized project of efficiency of each company is given from the in-put aspect.The econometrics model is put forward and we make the regression analysis while choosing the technical efficiency values as the dependent and the human resource quality, the salary guerdon system, the business concentration degree and the opposite scale of property, can't be brought into in-put and out-put, as the independent variables. So, we can confirm these variables how to affect and the degree of the company efficiency.In the end, the paper put forward some suggestions to raise the operational efficiency on the basis of efficiency values and regression.
