As the development of the information technology and market globalization trend being more and more obvious, the competition in the market becomes fiercer and fiercer. In order to fight for one seat in the fierce market competition, the operators of enterprises realize the importance of after-sale service gradually. In the after-sale service management inside enterprises, the quality of the inventory management level plays a key role, and the important factor of the inventory management level is the management information system.This paper layed the management information system development item of the inventory with Xuzhou Engineering Machinery Group Marketing Company networked after-sale service system as the background. And carryed on discussion and research in inventory management and control, such as basic theories, optimize tactics and something else held in inventory categorised method.The paper utilized the UML (unified modeling language ) as a tool to set business procedure models of the inventory management and control, then designed an overall frame of management information system of inventory which is suitable for the domestic large-scale engineering machinery manufacturing company managed in different places . The frame of this system which is according to the inventory control business with existing after-sale service system of marketing company ,is directing against the weak link of information construction in inventory control of the spare part of the engineering machinery manufacturing company. This frame included basic data management module, inventory movement in and out of the warhouse management module, inventory analysis and etc.
