Information Technology Tianjin's Traditional Industries, The Role Of Research

With the advent of 21st century, the trend of the economic globalization has become irreversible. While bringing unprecedented opportunity to us, globalization has brought some challenges too, especially to some traditional industries in the national economy. Therefore, the study on the process of informatization can help the traditional industries to perfect their operation and management and have their own position on the fierce market.Traditional industries have made enormous contribution to the development of national economy, and they will be the basic drive of the economic growth and play an important role in the national economy within quite a long period in the future. However, because controlled by planned economic system in the last years, traditional industries often ignore the efficiency and quality and expand in an extensive way. Since China joined WTO in 2001, the rule of market access has been reduced progressively. Thus foreign products and services will enter our domestic market more easily, bringing great challenges to the domestic enterprises lagged in the technology and the management. In this way, under the environment of the fierce competition on the market triggered by globalization, the traditional industries have to improve themselves if they want to survive the cruel competition. It is the informatization that has offered an effectual way to reach that goal.The article starts from current domestic and abroad situation study on how information technology changed traditional industry then author further analyzed on the mechanism of informalization changing the traditional industry and pointed it should be realized by changing modules of production, competition, organization and management. The author elaborated the stress and weaknesses that Tian Jin traditional industry possesses in the competition environment and summarized the motivation of infonnalization of Tian Jin traditional industry Based on the statistics data analysis of questionnaire survey on S00 traditional industry companies and case studies on 2 old traditional industry companies, the author summarized the problems companies should pay attention to and revelations during infonnalization process. She also gave some suggestions on the infonnalization strategy.
