| Faced with the severe situation of mineral resources, it is urgent to set up a suit of rapid and efficient techniques of mineral resources prediction and assessment. After studying on the methods of mineral resources assessment based on GIS, two new methods were designed and implemented to make the mineral resources prediction and assessment based on GIS by constructing the assessment indexes, taking the manganese ore in the west Guangxi and southeast Yunnan district as an example.Focusing on the issue of metallogenic information asymmetry, a new method of metallogenic information integration, i.e. the method of metallogenic information integration based on combined scopes, was proposed, and the prediction model of mineral resource could be established using the linear regression analysis based on integration of combined scopes.Focusing on the issue of loss of metallogenic information when converting the evidence maps into binary maps, a method of using the linear regression analysis to guide the selection of evidence maps that was advantageous to ore-formation and obtain the critical value that was the best, i.e. the weights of evidence method based on linear regression, was proposed and used to calculate the metallogenic favourability degree from the point of mineral resources location.Through the metallogenic background analysis, the index set of mineral resources assessment based on GIS was built using the multiple geo-spatial databases as data-driven by taking the manganese ore in the west Guangxi and southeast Yunnan district as an example. Then the quantitative prediction of manganese resources in the study area was made using the linear regression analysis based on integration of combined scopes and the extended weights of evidence respectively, and six prospective areas of ore-formation were delineated by integrating the mineral resources and metallogenic favourability degree. |
