The weights of evidence method is one of the most widely used models in the field ofmineral resource quantitative prediction,environmental assessment and geological disastersat home and abroad. China’s ongoing mineral resource potential assessment project is alsoone of the recommended method. Since the last century80’s,the weight of evidenceapproach was introduced to the field of geosciences which has been the rapid developmentof scholars from various countries. the method is multifaceted expansion, in addition toexisting general weight of evidence, it also develop the fuzzy weights of evidence method,the singularity of the weights of evidence approach extended model, not only expands theapplication effect of evidence right model, but also increase its application scope.Despite the weights of evidence method has been constantly in development andimprovement, but the conditional independence assumptions in the forecast object under animportant condition on the application weights of evidence menthod, and one of thedifficulties between the evidence layer, there are still some shortcomings, for theproblem.Chinese scholars Professor Zhang Shengyuan study for the first time the weightedweights of evidence method, this method can effectively weaken the impact of eachevidence layer does not meet the conditions of independence in the weight of evidenceapproach. This paper describes the basic principles of this new method of weighted weightsof evidence method, and applied to Gejiu of Yunnan Province tin-copper polymetallic ore.Gejiu of Yunnan Province region is an important tin-copper polymetallic ore and preciousmetals in mineral deposits, the known deposits within its scope more geological researchhigher degree, the article provides a good basis of geological data.Comparative study of the details in the previous section is now more mature twoweight of evidence of the ordinary weights of evidence and fuzzy evidence weights methodand were used in Gejiu of Yunnan Province tin-copper polymetallic ore weighted weightsof evidence the prediction. Use the weighted weights of evidence method to get thepredicted effect and the ordinary weights of evidence method and fuzzy weights ofevidence method derived from the forecast results and a comparative study. The resultsshowed that the weighted weights of evidence method and the ordinary weights of evidence and fuzzy weights of evidence are two ways to predict results with a high degree ofconsistency. The predictions are consistent with the the Gejiu of Yunnan Province actualmineralization mode also shows that the use of weighted evidence weights method the rightmethod for the prediction of mineral resources can produce good results.
