The foundation of Chaos has promoted the rapid development of modern science, and makes people have a new understanding of the complex real world. As chaos is extremely sensitive to the initial conditions, any system is inevitably limited by the accuracy and disturbed by the external environment in reality, chaos control and synchronization has been considered unattainable and ignored all the time. Until 1990, the proposal of OGY control method and the successful achievement of synchronization by Pecora and Carroll, lead a great shock for all the scientific community, and make chaos research enter a new era. In particular, chaos synchronization applied in secure communication is becoming a hot and competitive topic by every country.DC-DC converters belongs to strong nonlinear systems, it contains a wealth of nonlinear phenomena. People conduct to its study in-depth, and achieved fruitful results through the approach as theoretical analysis, simulation and circuit experiments and so on. This paper takes Cuk converter as the research object. First analyzes the complex nonlinear dynamics of the converter, and then uses the PC synchronization method to realize its chaos synchronization. At the same time, designs a plan of the feedback controller that encloses the switching variables to achieve synchronization control of Cuk converter under different states based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The results can be applied to a variety of switching nonlinear circuits and systems, and establishes the basis of the double potential applications for power electronic circuit as the power transformation and transmission of information.The main works of this paper work include:(1) Describes the basics of chaos, including the origin and development of chaos, its basic features, chaos control and synchronization theory, and researching content of this paper.(2) Introduces the knowledge of DC-DC converters, analyzes Cuk converter operation principle, and studies the phenomena of chaos and bifurcation by the precise simulation of MATLAB.(3) Summarizes the main methods of chaos synchronization currently used for details, such as driver-response method, active-passive method, coupled synchronization method and observer-based synchronization method. And then analyzes these with simulation examples. It is prepared for designing the synchronization scheme of Cuk converter. Finally introduces the application of chaos synchronization in secure communications.(4) Uses the state-space averaging approach to analyze state equations of Cuk converter, and constitutes chaos synchronization system with the identical converter. Analyzes the synchronization possibility by equivalent and simplify. Finally, verifies the analysis method with the simulation.(5) For the drive-response system composed by Cuk converter under double-loop control, while the system parameter is known, designs a feedback controller scheme; implements the system synchronization under the different states successful. Then improves the synchronization scheme and obtains the ideal effects all the same. The method is fast, effective and robust. It's also able to actualize synchronization for different-structure system, which is of some universal.
