Software radio technology has the flexibility and scalability not only makes possible the rapid development of communication technology, but also proposes an important study direction of the GPS receiver - GPS Software Receiver. GPS software receiver inherits the advantages of Software radio technology and gets rid of the poor flexibility and low extensibility of the traditional hardware receiver and it not only has the advantages of short development cycle, lower cost, but also studies some key algorithms of GPS receiver. It has the important significance to study GPS receiver that has proprietary intellectual property rights in the later periods. In this situation, the paper has study the GPS software receiver.This paper mainly introduced the study and realization of GPS software receiver. In this paper, all of the key modules are realizated on PC besides the data sampler. In the paper, it fistly simply intruduced the principle and algorithm of basedband processing and navigation solution and then tested the accurate of the algorithms. Secondly, it intruduced the designation and realization the 12 channel-GPS software correlator based on lookup table (for short GPS software correlator) in detail. Finally, it introduced the designation and realization of GPS software receiver.And the article introduces two partial content's concrete algorithms basically with working principle of the GPS receiver's base band signal processing module and the localization resolving module, and confirms its algorithm based on the MTLAB platform.In this paper, it has two impotant ports. One is the designation and realization of GPS software correlator. GPS software correlator is an essential part of the GPS software receiver, deciding performance of the receiver guidance localization directly. In the paper, it focuses on designing and realizing the code module, the carrier module and the product table according to the working principle of the GPS software correlator. Considering the operating speed of GPS software correlator, there designed a product table to guarantee the GPS software receiver timely request. In this paper, it use look-up table to instead of the traditional related operational method of correlator, enhancing the operating speed greatly. Finally, it has realized 12-channel GPS software correlator under theVC6.0 environment, and has confirmed performance of GPS software correlator modules. And the results indicated the GPS software correlator can work normally, and could satisfy the timely request of the GPS software receiver. The other is the study and realization of GPS software receiver. In this paper, it designed and realized the GPS software receiver based on the structure of GPS receiver hardware and working principle. Then it importantly intrduced the division of tasks and task allocation mechanisms function and task switching mechanism. Finally, according to the the structure GPS software receiver, it built the GPS software receiver platform under the VC6.0 environment. Following, it has completed the performance testing of GPS software receiver. The experimental result indicated that the receiver designed can work normally, be able to guarantee timely request of GPS software receiver and the level position accuracy can be reached about five meters, the elevation position accuracy can be about 11m, satisfies the accuracy request.
