With the rapid development of geographic information systems and the widely use in many kinds of business, it leads to the generation of spatial data's multiple sources. And during the early stage of development in GIS, different kinds of GIS software are used in themselves specific spatial data models and the spatial data storage format, which results the different GIS systems are independent, mutually exclusive, this is not convenient for the geospatial data sharing and utilization. With the development of the application of GIS, people become more urgent to share the geographic information, so that the geographic information integration and sharing becomes a necessary requirement, we can make full use of the existing data resources, to realize the real geographic information sharing, we have to face and solve the problem that the integration of multi-source and heterogeneous spatial data.This paper compares with the current situation, puts forward a multi-source heterogeneous spatial data integration solution which is based on the GML, and discusses the relative problems which based on this technology. First outline the Extensible Markup Language-XML and the Geography Markup Language-GML, which is based on the GML, introduce the benefits of data modeling and the development prospects; then analyzes the performance of the multi-source heterogeneous spatial data, combines with the description, modeling, transport and other advantages of the GML spatial data which compares with the traditional mode spatial data integration, designs a multi-source heterogeneous spatial data integration framework which based on GML.According to the integration framework of the GML-based multi-source heterogeneous spatial data, do more researches on the multi-source heterogeneous spatial data convert to GML, GML spatial data storage solutions and the visualization of the client, on the aspect of the multi-source heterogeneous spatial data convert to GML, analysts several geometric model of spatial heterogeneous data, discusses the conversion method that convert the multi-source heterogeneous spatial data to GML; on the aspect of the GML storage. Combined with three storage methods nowadays, according to the current status, this paper uses the Oracle XML DB technology to store the GML data. On the aspect of spatial data's client visualization, the paper uses the client to show which based on the scalable vector graphics (SVG), and research the conversion methods from GML to SVG.Finally, according to the test analysis, the multi-source heterogeneous spatial data integration solution which based on the GML is feasible and promising, it has some practical reference value for the integration and sharing of the geographic information.
