The visual processing technology can be used in petroleum exploration. This technology transforms abstract data into visualized graphics, so that the experts can make efficient and safety mining schemes. However, with the development of society and technology, the2D graphics that has been widely used cannot meet the demands, it is urgent to set a3D geological model to enrich graphics'expression. The model accurately expresses information about the outline of the geological body, the position between strata, and the strata properties. So it can provide the technical support in selecting exploration direction, arranging well location and safety mining. Logging curve data is acquired during the petroleum exploration process, the value of curve data represents the lithological character of strata where contains measuring points. Logging curve data is used in recognition of oil, gas, and water layers. The data also used to calculate parameters like porosity, saturation and permeability, as well as to evaluate the quality of oil and gas formation. The method of building3D geological model based on logging curve data of actual project is researched in this paper. This paper has important theoretical significance and practical application value for digital drilling and intelligent Mud-logging.The development environment of OpenGL in Visual Studio.Net is built in this paper after the system demand analysis and overall design. Then, the fundamental issues and key technologies on3D Geological Model are researched from the following aspects:(1) The requirement of the3D geological model is analyzed in this paper. Then, both general structure and operation flow are designed. According to the requirement, the general structure is divided into different function modules.(2) The logging curve data is classified and modeled in this paper in detail. Firstly, the system preprocesses the curve data which acquired from database, the abnormal data and incomplete data are deleted. Then, the system generates the coordinate of each discrete point, the point's structure includes coordinate and curve data. The discrete points are stored in linked list.(3) The Delaunay triangulation algorithm, the subdivision technology and the interpolation technology, which are used to describe the reservoir of strata, are researched in this paper. (4) OpenGL is applied in Visual C++6.0in this paper. The graphic drawing process in OpenGL is researched. The light and material setting, the color filling and the pipe rending, which are key technologies in realizing visualization of the3D geological model, are studied.The3D geological model researched in this paper is the primary implementation of three-dimension visualization of logging data. Using the object-oriented design concept laid a foundation for further function extension.
