This paper reviewed the basic properties, application and research progress ofFluorine-containing compounds, Schiff base compounds and polyimide compounds. This paper reviewed the specific understanding of fluoride compounds and Schiffbase compounds and the basic properties of polyimide and its application. Fluorinecontainingcompound is one of fastest growing areas of fine chemicals, In chemistry, chemical engineering, materials, pesticide, medicine and other fields have a widerange of applications, and has broad prospects and great vitality. In particular, fluorinated aromatic compounds (mainly refers to the aromatic ring connected to thefluorine or trifluoromethyl compounds) Synthetic methods, development andapplication are causing widespread concern among domestic and foreign industry, scientists. Synthesis of a series of Schiff bases containing trifluoromethyl and a seriesof polyimide containing trifluoromethyl were characterized and analyzed by meltingpoints, IR, UV, NMR, thermal gravimetric analysis methods.A series of bis-Schiff bases were synthesized by benzaldehyde and derivativesreacted with 6FAPB respectively. These compounds were characterized by elementalanalysis, IR, UV and 1HNMR spectrum and the results were discussed. IR spectrumsshow, the stretching vibration of C=N appears in 1632~1609 cm-1.The UV spectrumsshow characteristic strong absorption at 317~360 nm, 1HNMR(N=C-H) data are8.70~8.30 ppm.Diamine monomer was synthesized by terephthalic aldehyde reacted with6FAPB .then Diamine monomer react with several different Dianhydride monomers tosynthesize polyimides by thermal imidization method. These compounds werecharacterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV and TG spectrum and the results werediscussed. Synthesis of polyimide showed good solubility and thermalstability(Decomposition temperature Td >490℃) Synthesis of polyimide film showedtransmission of light in Visible spectral regions IR spectrums show, the stretchingvibration of C=N appears in 1632~1609 cm-1. The UV spectrums show characteristicstrong absorption at 317~360 nm. This paper is important for further research of the characterization andapplication of compounds containing fluorine, especially fluorine-containing Schiffbase and fluorinated polyimide.
