The fatty amide morpholine were synthesized by the reaction of C1 C8 fatty acids with morpholine. The products were charactered by IR and 1H NMR. N-formylmorpholine (NFM) was synthesized under microwave irradiation. The result showed that the reaction time was reduced and the yield was improved.Liquid + liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for ternary system: cyclohexane (CYH) (1)- mesitylene (STB) (2)-NFM (3) and n-heptane (NHA) (1)-toluene (PhMe) (2)-NFM (3) were measured at different temperature. Complete phase diagrams were obtained by determining solubility and tie-line data. The two ternary systems had bigger two-phase region and belonged to the thermodynamic equilibrium system of the typeⅠ.Tie-line compositions were correlated by Othmer-Tobias and Bachman equation. For CYH (1)-STB (2)-NFM (3), at different temperatures, the correlation coefficients of Bachman equation were more than 0.99, the correlations coefficient of Othmer-Tobias equation were between 0.91 and 0.98, the results indicated that the tie-data data had the consistency, continuity, and reliability. For NHA (1)-PhMe (2)-NFM (3), at different temperatures, the correlation coefficients of Othmer-Tobias and Bachman equation were between 0.9 and 0.6, this inducated that the tie-data data were fundamentally consistent and reliable. Distribution coefficients, separation factors and selectivities were evaluated for the immiscibility region. The distribution coefficients of mesitylene and toluene were above 0.4, and the separation factors and selectivities of mesitylene and toluene in different concentrations were more than 2 at different temperatures. These indicated that the NFM had a nice extraction to mesitylene and toluene.Liquid + liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for ternary system: benzyl acetate (BA) (1)-N- valerylmorpholine (NVM) (2)-H2O (3) was measured at different temperature. Solubility curves were obtained by determining solubility. The effect of temperature was studied. The result showed that the two-phase region became bigger as the temperature increased.Liquid + liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for ternary system: NVM (1)-NaCl (2)-H2O (3) was measured at different temperature. Solubility curves were obtained by determining solubility. The effect of temperature to solubility curves was studied. The result showed that the two-phase region became bigger and the aqueous two-phase system formed easily as the temperature increased. The surface tension of N-caproylmorpholine (NCM) was 32.93 mN/m. When the concentration of NCM solution was increased from 1.73×10-2 mol/L to 8.10×10-2 mol/L, its surface tension was reduced from 50.80 mN/m to 34.05 mN/m linearly, and couldn't form micelle spontaneously.
