The boracic surafctnats possess much characteristic features compared with ordinary surfactants, which make it has wide application prospects. Therefore, synthesis, basic properties and application research about this new surfactant has become an advanced subject in the field of surfactants recently, however, little literature on the aspect of boracic surafctnats has been found at present in our courtry. This synthesis of novel boracic quaternary ammonium salt in this paper can not find relevant research report at home and abroad. This study in the final success will fill the gap in this field. At the same time, the boracic quaternary ammonium salt and their mixtures were used as the coke deterioration inhibitor loaded in coke surface, the influence of them on coke thermal properties were discussed, then the better coke deterioration inhibitor was screened out. Which will provide a new idea for the study of modification of the coke thermal properties and its industrial application. Our research contents in this paper were got mainly as follows:N-methyldiethanolamine reacted with boric acid to synthesize the intermediate, N-methyldiethanolamine borate. Then the N-methyldiethanolamine borate further reacted with brominating dodecyl to synthetize the product, N-methyl brominating dodecyl diethanolamine borate,a novel boracic quaternary ammonium salt. The effects on the reaction process were investigated by the single factor experiment. The optimum conditions of the intermediate product and the objective product were obtained as following:methylbenzene as water entrainer, n(N-methyldiethanolamin: boric)=1.0,m(methylbenzene)/m(N-methyldiethanolamin)=1.8,circumfluence by heat-ed,reaction time 7h; absolute ethyl alcoholas solvent, n(bromododecane:borate)=1.0, circumfluence by heated, reaction time 8h. Under these conditions, the yields of intermediate product and the objective product were 96.9%,92.6% respectively. The structures of the product were characterized by IR and elementary analysis. The basic properties of the objective product were detected such as dissolvability, surface tension, critical micelle concentration(CMC) and hydrophilic lipophilic balance(HLB) value et.. And the research showed that synthetic products were well soluble in polar solvents and sparingly soluble in less polar solvents. The surface activities of the product were measured, the hydrophilic lipophilic balance(HLB) value was about 10~13, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) was 2.50×10-4 mol·L-1,surface tension was 27.81 mN·m-1. The results indicated that the boracic quaternary ammonium salt exhibited good solubility in water and higher surface activity. The effect of the boracic quaternary ammonium salt and its complexed system to the coke thermal property were studied, which was used as the coke deterioration inhibitor with spraying. The results showed that the boracic quaternary ammonium salt could improve the coke thermal properties, which has the dual role of deterioration inhibitors and chemical vapor deposition, and its complexed system could effectively improve the coke thermal properties,it has played the very good synergy role with other deterioration inhibitors. The result of specific surface area and porosity analyzer indicated that specific surface area, porosity and stomatal diameter was decreased evidently after the coke sprayed with inhibitors.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) was used to analysis the micro structure of coke before and after passivated,we found that the surface of coke and its porosity diameter decreasesd, depth appeared smaller and isolation after the coke sprayed with inhibitors. Which could help to reduce loss reaction of CO2 with coke.
