In China, Sintering Method and Bayer process are used widespread. The cost of sintering method is too high, and is going to be eliminated in the market. Bayer process is in the dominate position in Henan province. But with the development of aluminum industry, bauxite is less and less. After predatory exploitation for half century, bauxite is very little. Now the existing bauxite can only be used for about 6-8 years in Henan province.This paper is based on cost analysis and benefit analysis, taking reference of alumina producing home and abroad, to analyze the Low-temperature Bayer process in Henan province. Firstly, This paper analyzes the area distribution, deposit quantity, element, character of the bauxite, then analyzes bauxite in China and Henan province. Secondly analyzes the application of three different alumina processes, and supplies Low-temperature Bayer process through importing gibbsite cost analysis, producing energy consumption analysis, and cost sensibility analysis. Lastly it points out the foreground of Bayer process and the existing problems, concluding the related countermeasures.The characteristics and innovations of this paper are as follows:1 making a contrastive analysis of three alumina producing processes:Sintering process, Bayer process, Low-temperature Bayer process; 2 supplying cost analysis and benefit analysis of Low-temperature Bayer process through sensibility analysis and contrastive analysis; 3 pointing out the foreground of Bayer process and the existing problems in Henan province, concluding the related countermeasures.This paper supplies cost analysis and related countermeasures of Low-temperature Bayer process. It is not only good for decreasing manufacture cost and increasing benefits, but also is good for decreasing bauxite exploitation and for protecting environment. At last, it is good for sustainable development of alumina enterprises in Henan province.
