Waterborne coatings have been hot research due to low volatilization of VOC. Polyurethane is good at noncorrodibility for its special structure. Waterborne polyurethane coatings modified by epoxy resin can enhance its water resistance and mechanical properties.This thesis studied the preparation and properties of waterborne polyurethane coatings modified by epoxy resin. Film forming matter is waterborne polyurethane. Pigment, promoter and additive etc. were added into the coating. Properties of conventional polyurethane coatings have great improvement.The main works of this thesis as follows:1. Waterborne polyurethane emulsion is prepared by reaction of IPDI and polyether glycol, furthermore, emulsion were modified by epoxy resin. The relationship of polyether glycol portion and properties of emulsion is studied.2. Waterborne polyurethane emulsion is made to zinc-rich coating using trimethylolpropane trisacrylate as solidifying agent. Coating has anti-corrosive properties by cathode protective method. The effect of solidifying agent and additive etc. in coating were also studied.
