With the rapid development of the global economy, the problem of pollution becomes more serious and the quality of water has attracted much attention. Dissolved organic matter (DOM) that has a significant impact on the level of pollution is widely present in environmental water, and the fluorescence is an important optical property of them. Humic acid is the main component of dissolved organic matter (DOM). we analyzed the humic acid samples with the three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy and obtain their spectra of fingerprints. We discussed the dependence of fluorescent characteristics on the pH values and concentrations based on the differences of peak's position, number and intensity; then we analyzed water samples through fluorescence spectroscopy, synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy, three-dimensional fluorescence spectrometry and compared the results to draw relevant conclusions which provide the basis for distinguishing the degree of environmental water pollution.
