| City is a major activity place where human live, with the increase of population, the development of society and the progress of technology, city's urbanization in our country speeds up very quickly. Entering the 21st century, this tendency is still continued. However, the speed-up of urbanization bring in unprecedented challenges, many obvious problems appears in the city. On the one hand, urbanization gives an impetus to the development of economy, society and culture and so on. On the other hand, urbanization threatens human living environment and quality of life, and has a great impact on the natural environment of human life. In order to ease the conflicts and solve the problems between urban development and natural environment, make urbanization sustainable and high-efficient, ecology-oriented city is a tendency to the urban development. Therefore, constructing an ecological city has already been a concern for the world and it is a target for world's urban development in the 21st century. During this time, the construction level of ecological city in regional area is extremely important. At present, our economy developing very fast, the construction of ecological city spreading out likes a raging fire, Sichuan is a big province in our western country, whose economy level has been improved with a fast speed in recent years, and whose governor brought up the construction of the ecology city many years ago. As a result, this paper, selecting cities of Sichuan as the evaluated objects, assesses ecological cities'construction level and capability between 1997 and 2008(12years) comprehensively and thoroughly, hoping to provide theory basis for Sichuan's ecological city constructionThis paper evaluates construction capacity of Sichuan's ecological city from the following parts: firstly, introduction mainly talks about the research background and significance, proposing the methods and content of research according to the current situation of ecological city's build-up at home and abroad. Secondly, the relevant theory of ecological city, it mainly explains city's ecological philosophy, content and features of ecological city and measurement of eco-city standards and so on. Thirdly, the evaluation system of ecological city's capacity-building, I try establishing a theoretical framework based on the content and features of ecological city , on the basis of those, constructing an evaluation system including three one-grade subsystem , twelve two-grade subsystem and sixty index. The regression analysis and principal component analysis are selected as the methods of evaluation. Forth, the general evaluation and analysis of Sichuan's ecological city capacity-building, at first, evaluating the ecology-orientated construction level about Sichuan economy, society and environment by the analysis of main components and then making a conclusion for the shortages of those; after that, making a comprehensive evaluation for Sichuan's ecological city's capacity-building. Fifth, coordination of research, I make an analysis of radar maps and multiple regressions by general score of ecology-oriented construction levels among economy, society and environment and capacity-building of eco-city. Through the analysis of radar maps, we can know the coordination of economy, society, and environment, at the same time we can analyze the coupling relations among them as well as the contribution of them by methods of multiple regressions.In summary, this paper can be concluded as follows:1.Comprehensive capacity-building of Sichuan's ecological city, in the past twelve years, has improved obviously, which can be divided into two stages: first stage from 1997 to 2002; second stage 2002 to 2008; ecological city's construction level in the first stage is higher than that in the second stage. The main reason is that the big progress of Sichuan's economy, society and environment urge the enhancement of city's general construction capacity with western development. Also this fast improvement can be forecasted and continued.2.The coordination of Sichuan ecological city's construction including economy, society and environment can be divided into two categories: the first is that good coordination among them is caused by the lower construction level of eco-city; the second is that it is caused by the relatively higher construction level of eco-city. Before 2002, the coordination of Sichuan's ecological city construction can be regarded as the first one; after 2002, with the acceleration of economy development, the economy level is higher than society in the ecology-orientation from the year 2005, which leads to the system'coordination worse. All of those mean that the ecology-oriented constructions need to be enhanced further.3.Form the coupling relations among economy, society and environment, the relation between economy and environment is the best according to the related result of the analysis. Economy development in Sichuan province is in the range of nature resources. Further more, the coordination development of economy and environment can be in a good condition. However, the relations among them can develop more deeply, which means that the social development should be improved. The result is that Sichuan city's ecology-oriented development doesn't enter into a good situation.4.From the contribution of the capacity-building of ecological city among these three aspects, the development of economy makes a great contribution to the capacity-building of ecological city by establishing multi-regression model. Actually the contribution of environment is transferred into the ecology-oriented capacity-building. Therefore, Sichuan's governor should strengthen capacity-building of social ecology, so the coordination of economy and environment can promote the progress of society so as to achieve in a good situation between urbanization and ecological orientation... |
